The most thunderstorm dangered time of the year in the alps is getting closer and closer every day: August. Here comes the convective weather outlook for Austria. Today we are not expecting any thunderstorms, maybe a rainshower here or there, but mostly fair. Tomorrow in the afternoon the western part of Austria will have some thunderstorms already, concentrated to the south. Also in SE Salzburg and NW Steiermark thunderstorms are likely. In the evening most of W and central Austria, as well as all of N Steiermark are affected by thunderstorms, that can bring extreme rain and small hail especially in the western parts of Austria. Flash flooding is likely, and mud avalanches are also quite possible. Over night there still are Extreme rainshowers in the same areas, probably causing extensive flash- and flooding, that might hold some time. In the NE Steiermark and NW Tirol there still are thunderstorms, that now bring extremely large hail, and stormgusts. The convective outlook for the day of Sunday will probably be issued in the morning of Sunday at hopefuly 5-6 MEST, 3-4UTC
