Yesterday intense thunderstorms struck all of Austria, but mainly the E part. The thunderstorms caused some severe injuries in Niederösterreich, at a festival known as medeival festival. The visitors could only flee under the tent, but then stormgusts come and knocked several trees onto the tent. Several people got injured badly, some more slight. The Injured included some children. In the S, around Graz 2 supercells caused large hail, as well as a funnel cloud, that MILK stormchasers, as well as Skywarn Austria members managed to document. Many locations were stricken by the thunderstorms, but here come the locations that the Skywarn Austria chasers reported. In Kufstein, Tirol, 0.5cm large hail was reported. This report is considered plausible. In Amlach, Kärnten, 1cm large hail was sighted. IN Grafendorf, Kärnten, 4cm large hail was reported. In Gratwein, Steiermark, 1cm large hail was reported. In Haselsdorf-Tobelbad, Steiermark 3cm large hail was reported. In Dobel, Steiermark, a funnel cloud was observed. This event was confirmed by MILK Stormchasers. In Gradenfeld, Steiermark 3cm large hail was reported. In Kalsdorf bei Graz, Steiermark, 5cm large hail was reported. IN Enzelsdorf, Steiermark 3.5cm large hail was reported. There were stormgusts in the thunderstorms N of the Alps.
